Simon Elliott
Educated in Switzerland and England, William Elliot began his flying career with the Royal Flying Corps. During 1919, he served in Russia during the British intervention, where he was shot down and almost captured. William rose to become Commander in Chief of Fighter Command after the Second World War, in which he flew a white-painted Spitfire during inspections of the various airfields under his command. He retired in 1954.
