The heavily-glazed stepless cockpit of the He 111 gave the pilot excellent visibility both in the air and on the ground. The main flight instrumentation is just to the left of the control column. The engine controls are to the left-hand side of the cockpit. The platform to the right of the cockpit allowed the bomb aimer to operate from a prone position, from where they could also use a single machine gun (absent here).
