After the Battle of Britain, the Anson remained in RAF service as a crew trainer, particularly for those who would go on to serve in the large multi-engined aircraft of Bomber Command. Due to congestion in air traffic over the UK, as well as the presence of enemy aircraft, most of this training took place overseas in Canada, the US, South Africa and Australia.
